Farmworker Justice to close out 40 year anniversary with special recognition of FJ President Bruce Goldstein

(Washington, D.C.) – Farmworker Justice will hold its Annual D.C. Reception on December 8, 2021 at the Eaton Hotel in Washington, D.C. starting at 6:00 p.m. EDT. The event will celebrate 40 years since the founding of Farmworker Justice and its four decades of impactful assistance to the farmworker community. It will also provide an opportunity to thank Bruce Goldstein for his 33 years of service to Farmworker Justice as he retires at the end of the year.

The evening will be hosted by Bel Hernandez, Founder and CEO of Latin Heat Media, based in Los Angeles, who is also the Chair of the Farmworker Justice Advisory Council. Other participants include veteran actor and farmworker supporter Pepe Serna (“Scarface, “With Love” and “Flamin’ Hot”), who will provide a dramatic reading of a poem honoring farmworkers and their struggle for justice. Special guest actor Annie Gonzalez (Netflix’s “Gentefied, and upcoming “Flamin’ Hot” directed by Eva Longoria) will join for a presentation on FJ’s work and impact.

“We are looking forward to hosting our friends and allies as we recognize the advocacy work that has gone into the past 40 years on behalf of farmworkers. As we look ahead to the new year, Farmworker Justice will begin a new chapter as we continue to fight for the rights of farmworkers and their communities,” says Bruce Goldstein.
