A retrospect – 40 years
When Farmworker Justice was founded in 1981, the mission remained the same then as it is now: To advocate, litigate and build the capacity of farmworker organizations to achieve a greater measure of justice. While new threats emerge today against the rights and wellbeing of farmworkers and their families, over 40 years we have seen great leaps in farmworker protections and working conditions. The last year has revealed how dependent we are on farmworkers, and also the lack of those protections that every worker deserves.
As we look to the next 40 years, we remain focused on our mission to empower farmworker organizations and serve the hands that feed us.
